Join Harvard Alumni for Global Women's Empowerment for a lively discussion on the new Barbie movie, directed by Greta Gerwig and starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. This creative retelling of an American classic doll's transformative journey serves as an inspirational source of strength and self-confidence for girls and women of all ages.

 

The movie has been praised for its feminist message, its groundbreaking visuals, and its hilarious take on the iconic doll. But what did you think?

 

In this discussion, we'll explore all aspects of the movie, from its plot and characters to its themes and symbolism. We'll also discuss how the movie compares to the Barbie doll line and to other pop culture representations of women's empowerment.

Barbie will be the third one in our 2023 Movie Club series. The first was The King of Masks followed by The Swimmers.
