Dear Friend of the Harvard GlobalWE,
On behalf of the Harvard Alumni for Global Women's Empowerment, we are thrilled to invite you to participate in our 4th annual “Women's Empowerment Expo” on Friday, November 1st, 2019 (afternoon timing TBD), at Harvard University. Please register at the following link: 2019 EXPO REGISTRATION.
The 2019 Women’s Empowerment Expo provides a forum for organizations leading the way globally for women’s empowerment to connect with Harvard University students and alumni—from all schools across the University—as well as other members of the Harvard community, who seek internship, volunteer, board member, career exploration, and other opportunities with leading nonprofit and social enterprise organizations focused on girls and women. Participating organizations span a variety of fields, including the arts, social services, education, health, international development, economic empowerment, policy and advocacy, and STEM.
For the first time at this year’s Expo, we plan to include an additional programmatic component, inviting select organizations to participate in a panel discussion on their work on gender equality. This pre/post Expo event would be open to all participating organizations, as well as to individual attendees of the Expo and the larger Harvard community.
This year’s Expo will take place in the afternoon of Friday, November 1st, at a location to be determined on Harvard’s campus. Previous venues for the Expo include the Harvard i-Lab and the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Organizations that have previously participated in the Expo include: Camfed, Center for Reproductive Rights, Girl Up, Plan International USA, and Women for Women International.
The Women’s Empowerment Expo was founded by Harvard GlobalWE in 2016, in honor of Harvard’s first Women’s Weekend, and brought together 30+ organizations and 150+ alumnae on the HBS campus. The event is led by Harvard GlobalWE, and has been co-sponsored in years past by the Harvard Alumni Association (HAA), Harvard’s Center for Public Interest Careers (CPIC), Harvard’s Office of Career Services (OCS), and the Harvard Business School’s Women Students Association.
Harvard Alumni for Global Women’s Empowerment (Harvard GlobalWE) is a shared interest group of the Harvard Alumni Association that brings together alumni dedicated to empowering women through access to education, political rights, freedom from violence, health care, and economic empowerment. In collaboration with the Harvard Center for Public Interest Careers and the Harvard Business School Women’s Student Association, Harvard GlobalWE is hosting the 4th annual to connect Harvard alumni and students from across the University with leading girls- and women-focused organizations.
To register your organization and reserve a table at this event, please fill in the online registration form here. Please register your participation as soon as possible, as we are limited by space to hosting no more than 30 organizations.
